Chain-making is a fun introduction to making your own jewellery or a great way to build on your current skills.

In this two day class (10-4 each day) we will learn about different gauges of metal, how to anneal (soften) metal, bend it and make perfectly uniform jump rings that will become the components of your chain. We'll also be soldering, hammering, sanding and polishing our chains. Participants will be sure to leave with a new shiny treasure and a comprehensive set of jewellery skills to build on. No experience necessary!

* An annual membership fee ($35) to the Calgary Rock + Lapidary Club is required for access to their jewelry studio, where our classes will be hosted. This membership has its own perks beyond our class time and is valid for the calendar year.

* A $15-40 materials fee (depending on the amount of silver used for the chain) is due to the instructor by the end of the workshop.
